Dr. Simon Harley is a consultant Urologist born and raised in Adelaide.
Simon enjoys providing expert and compassionate care for all adult urological conditions and has a particular interest in:
- Minimally invasive surgery: robotic surgery, laparoscopic (key hole) and endoscopic surgery
- Urological cancers
- Prosthetic surgery (artificial urinary sphincters and penile prostheses)
- Lifestyle, medical and surgical management of lower urinary tract symptoms and erectile dysfunction
- Kidney stone disease
Simon completed a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery in 2011 through the University of Adelaide. In 2018 he was awarded a Master of Clinical Science for his research examining the life-style factors that contribute to the change in severity of lower urinary tract symptoms in men.
He relocated to Queensland in 2016 to complete his Urology Fellowship training prior to becoming a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (Urology) in 2022.
After completing his training, he undertook a sub-specialty fellowship in robotic surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Brisbane. Simon’s sub-specialty training included robotic surgery for prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer in addition to Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) surgery for markedly enlarged prostates.
Simon is a Consultant Urologist at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and consults privately at multiple locations in Adelaide.
Outside of medicine, Simon enjoys the time spent with his wife and two children and has an unhealthy obsession with the Geelong Football Club.
